Short of switching shocks, does anyone know of a good way to lower the rear end of a 200X simply???? The rocker type linkage does not allow for the conventional strut type lowering methods. Please, any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i'n not sure why you would want to do that but maybe a lower profile tire or to give the apperiance of a lower back end,,, raise the front forks to the very top of the top tripple tree,,,

I am currently attempting to build a shorttrack ice racer to play on my pond with and relive the old days. I have plenty of room for an 1/8 mile track. I am trying to hang with the 400ex's out here. I have seen pics of Curtis Sparks flattrack X and it looks very low with the center of gravity really down there. He probably used a custom shortened Ohilns shock or something very pricey like that. Yes, it does have 18" rears and the front is lowered also. Thanks.
you could do it the ultimate cheap way and use a ratchet strap, be sure to keep the loose end out of the chain and axle.
First try backing the spring preload tension nut off. That should drop the rear a bit. If that isnt enough you can have the spring cut which of course is a permanent mod. Or lastly if the track is smooth enough you can do what I did and go hard-tail. I built a billet aluminum strut that replaces the shock with 3 different height positions. Now go eat up that 400ex.
Curtis.
