250r crank seals. something doesnt look right!

im trying to get this motor back together. everything seemed to be going fine and i was following the manual. i pretty much have the bottom end all together with new bearings and seals yada yada. I was sitting there and thinking about the seals and the collar that goes around the crank and wonder how in the hey does that seal??? the manual looks like it wants the oring on the crank and then the crank installed into the bearing. shouldnt the oring be on the other side of the bearing with the collar???

    help???

The o-ring goes between the collar and the crank (inside) .You can install it after you put the cases together.
