Reliving my childhood with my new (29yr old ) 250R

Newbie here to the trike scene. Always wanted one, finally got the $ and the opportunity together at the same time. I purchased 2 complete 250Rs (1984-1983)
for $1000 from a deploying soldier outside Ft. Hood Tx. One is all together and running, just needing some TLC. One is in bags and boxes lol.

Ive owned rincons, recons, can-am commanders and now finally got my leash lengthened enough to own one of these "death machines"

Ive been on the phone all morning trying to find a dealer in South Texas that will assist me in a restoration. HA!!! I was just told it was "illegal" for a 3 wheeler to come into a service department of a Honda dealership for the second time today. looks like this restoration is going to be an uphill battle.

Any kind words or assistance with websites or bone yards for parts would be greatly appreciated. From the postings Ive seen looks like a good group of guys yall
got here, looking forward to bouncing my problems off the forums and getting my hands dirty. Click image for larger version.

    Welcome!

I'm still on an R hunt myself. I don't know about the shops around me, but my local dealer still has a mint 200X displayed so I don't see them hassling me too much. Not that I would bring it in anyway, Thats all the fun, Busting your own knuckles!

Don't bother with stealerships for help, get the tools out and wrench on it yourself!

The air cooled R's are lots of fun! Best to work on it yourself and / or find a good local shop. Better and more knowledgeable than the dealer... Good luck!
