Need help finding oversized piston for 83 185s

Hey guys I Have a few questions about my friends 1983 ATC185s
We have the Top end off and cylinder removed. The cylinder has alot of pitting and is going to need to be bored out.
I looked around for replacement pistons and I'm having a hard time. I see alot of 64mm-67mm pistons and I want to just get a larger sized piston so I can just have the cylinder bored to match the piston and if the piston is big enough I know it will be bored enough to clear the damaged cylinder. Problem is I can't find a piston AND ring combo for less then too much money. There are plenty of pistons around but with no rings or anything. Then there are alot of rings available but Im not sure what pistons they will work for.

I don't really know much about 185s so can you guys point me in direction as of size I want to go? Id also be willing to go up in compression if anything is out there.
Other then 100+ dollar weisco piston and ring sets I don't see any other piston and ring sets. Kind of weird compared to the experience I have buying pistons for my other machines.

If you don't have the tools to do it, have someone measure the bore for you so you know what size piston you'll need. If nothing else your shop should be able to do it. Your shop should bore your cylinder to match your piston, so bring the piston with when you drop off your cylinder for boring.

You should be buying a "piston kit" unless you are buying parts from Honda and need to buy the piston, rings, and clips separately.

Here is a good price on a NOS Wiseco Piston kit (piston, rings and clips)for a 65.5 bore. I believe the wrist pin should be included too, you'd have to contact the seller and find out for sure.:

A lot of aftermarket piston kits cost about the same, Personally, I'd go with a Wiseco. Been runnin 'em for years in wheelers and motorcycles with no problems.

    ebay piston kit listings:

Your stock size should be at 53mm but a good over bore for the 185s would be to start at the common std size atc200 at 65mm , if it were me I would use a std 200x piston and get a little more out of it .

so how much can the 185 cylinder be bored to max? I think we are going to go 65mm (possibly this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-NOS-WI...7bb3cb&vxp=mtr ) but just for the sake of knowledge it would be nice to know.

Im just buying the piston then sending it with the cylinder to have a shop match the bore to the piston so I really don't care about the size as long as its a few mm over to clean the cylinder.
Its my friends 3 wheeler he bought after riding my 3 wheelers a few months. we are painting it and replacing all the worn and broken things. building it to just ride the crap out of for a few years haha. ill post up pictures when its done.

I dont think that piston will work in your 185. You need one for a 83-85 200x, atc200 or xr200. That one is listed wrong, it will only work in the 86-87 200x.

You can go to 67mm if you want it's the same as a reg 200 cylinder , it just starts out at 63mm instead of 65mm
here is a good kit for you and it will give you a little more compression over the stock 185s piston . Will boost it to 9.2:1

Is $65 out of line? Seems like a good deal to me? Piston rings, pin & clips. Maybe I'm clueless...

its not a bad deal. As for over priced look what I did http://motors.shop.ebay.com/eBay-Mot...0.l1313&_rdc=1
look how many kits are over 100 bucks. seems unreal someone would pay that. I do now see 64mm kits for 50 bucks but Im more comfortable going a little bigger for the sake of the cylinder getting more removed. I like the 65mm kit shortline showed me thats 55 bucks. we can run that for a while and if needed we can always go to 67mm. lol

I paid 15 dollars for the piston in my 110, later I found the same pistons being sold for 45 dollars. I thought that was rough haha.
