I just put a magnum mx pro kit in my '85 this weekend. I can't give recommendations, as i haven't rode it yet b/c i'm doing
some other stuff to it right now. Bought it off ebay for $52.00. It looked exactly like what i took out, and installed fine with no problems. Good luck!

Stock bike deserves stock parts..if it has lasted 28 years and counting why would you need to consider anything but when it does finally wear out?
