    Are Vesrah gaskets any good?

Hey, the Vesrah gasket set contains everything i need, but I am wondering if they are worth buying? They seem kind of cheap and i have heard mixed results. Obviously i want the better gaskets but this is the kit with everything i need. Thanks.

My personal experience with Versah wasn't good..I bought a top end set for a 225DR I did a ring job on.

The head gasket wouldn't fit over the dowels in the head by a good 2mm.

I ended up buying the OEM..I suggest you do the same.

I second that. That would be my second choice after OEM, I would recommend Vesrah for ANY machice. They are made in Japan, same as OEM, and they are very good quality.

I heard the head gasket was junk. Is it really that bad though?

I have used the Vesrah top end kit and the full engine kit on a half dozen 200's now, and a couple 250's, i never had a problem with them, they line up good, seal good, never had anything to complain about other than the oil seals not being included. If you are rebuilding the top end just be aware that the oil seal for the camshaft on the pulse generator base is not included, and other 200's that have a decomp lever that oil seal is also not included. You have to buy an oil seal kit separately but thankfully they are not that expensive.

I've had a couple head gasket failures on my KX250 motors but all worked fine on my LT250R and 84 KXT. Gonna try to heat the head gasket without coolant first next time though. I think the Kx failures are part design and my fault with the head stay.

Who doesnt want an OEM head gasket though?

Wow thanks for all the reply's! From what i hear it's worth a try. If it leaks or is junk its not a lot of work to pull the motor and try a different kit.
