Did I destroy my rear carrier?

Was looking into reasons why my chain snapped on my '01 Scrambler 500 and was checking out the rear axle and found more front to back play on the rear axle than I ever want to see again.....

Got the axle out to check the bearings and I found that the right side (sprocket side) bearings were completely demolished, like there was nothing in there... I'm hoping this didn't destroy my rear carrier but since I have never once in my life replaced bearings I'm not sure really what I'm looking at (see pics below)... do I just need to replace the bearings/seals or is the rear carrier trashed?

i think it it useable from what i could see in the pics.. as long as the seals have a place to rest in the carrier.

Looks usable to me, the race from the bearing that got demolished is still in there.

It probably was usuable, or so I thought, until I got it out. Big giant crack towards the bottom, I imagine it was letting water in prematurely destroying the bearings. Found a killer deal on a rebuilt used one and bought new seals, chain, sprockets, and slapped it all back together.

It's definitely a fun quad though, only the second I've ever had (my first one I only had for a week and never took it out of the yard) but........ it's no trike. I've been riding my 185/200 while the Polaris just sits in the garage LOL.
