    'Lectrical question

    Hello from Hippy-Trippy Ojai everyone!
I need to replace my '83 200X headlite bulb, and want to go with the halogen style, and noticed they have a higher wattage version available at Dennis Kirk (stock = 60/60w, halogen = 60/55w and 100/55w). They also have HD versions.
    Will the generator handle this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Bob

On the 200 series motors, you don't have much room to play with electrically, Suggest keeping the same wattage bulbs. The 200X uses the bulb and wiring resistance to regulate power. Other models have a shunt which caps voltage out of the stator but not the 200X. Typically when a headlight blows, it will take the tail light bulb with it because voltage goes up and blows the other bulb. Get a fresh headlight and tail light bulb with the stock wattage. Always replace both bulbs together even if the other bulb i still working..
