another shot

Uhhh...What happened to your frame where its all crinkled up? I'm not sure if I'd be riding it with a stock 250R engine if the frame is in that kind of condition.
you have to dimple it to clear the 500 cases. dont worry, you wont have to ride this one.i plan to build another frame but it will be a lot more work. the engine cant really be lifted in the frame more then a 1/2" so the cradel will have to be cut away and the split for the exhaust will have to be raised. it will be a lot of work but the end result may be better.
So the frame has to be bent in places for the motor to sit low enough in the cradle? Isn't that making a weak point in the frame? Just wondering.
well the tube is no longer round so i would say it is weaker. now that the trike is together and running i plan to ride it a few weeks to find the weak spots and brace them before i powder coat the frame. it will have some bracing along the lower frame and i plan to make the skid a structural part of the frame.
I am hoping to make me a 500r some day.. hehe. First I have to get my 250r 86 atc, but after that, how hard did you find it to make the frame? Or do you think the new frame will be really hard?
I am almost willing to pay someone to make it for me hehe... since I dont have any equipment yet, like a welder.
Nice trike.

That looks like a sick trike, a local guy around here has one with a +10 swing arm and that thing runs 75++ mph up olds hill in the dunes. how do ya keep from dislocating your arms when you hit the pipe??

I was wondering if anyone one here has seen this conversion done with like the 84 250r and An aircooled CR500 motor. That would be kinda sweet.

They dont have any 500cr air cooled engines I dont beleive. The most you can do is 480cr, which is fairly large still... and that is the engine I am planning on putting on my 83 250r at some time.
I am going to first buy a 250r 85-86, then maybe later i'll build up either a 480cr air cooled, or a 500r with my new one.

my friend had a cr480 in his 83 250r. it was fast. 3rd gear went out and the bike was taken apart. the 250r was sold for parts but he still has all the cr480. he now got a nother 83 250r for free and wants to put the cr480 in it. i know it will not happen any time soon.
