I bought my 1984 Yamaha 200 e about a month ago. Out ran fine until last weekend it wouldn't started and gas just dumps out the carb over flow. I took the bowl off the carb and made sure the floats were working freely, but it still just pours gas out.

if gas is leaking out the float is stuck open . sounds like you need to clean the carb 2 me..

I cleaned it a month ago when I brought it home and I checked the floats today, which seem to be working properly and working free

When i bought my 200k i cleaned the card and it started doing this, My needle had a small peice of dirt inbeded into the small rubber tip, i got it off and cleaned it up and it quick leaking like a sive, I'd check the needle and it's seat, if that doesn't help, then most likely it it in the float.

Replace the float valve. The rubber tip on it gets effed up from the alcohol in the gas.
Use this stuff called startron fuel enzyme. Add it to your gas. It converts alcohol to octane. Remove float from carb. Check to see if its cracked. Check fuel lines for leaks and cracks. That should do ya..... good luck
