    Suzuki ALT valve repair

There is a guy on CL by me selling a Suzuki ALT185. Says the valve broke on it. Would this be a repair for a seasoned veteran, or could a rookie like myself possibly attempt it?

Easy with manual, but you're looking at a full top end and possibly a head replacement. The biggest problem is finding a piston for them, if you need a .25 or .75 over Sudco claims to have them. If your head is trash, DR/DRZ/LT/ALT125 heads will fit and bump the compression ratio a bit (They're 2cc smaller, so from 9.0:1 to 9.7:1), and they're cheap.

valves just dont break. something else happened to cause the broken valve. like the guy said above, a manual will help. you may be looking at more than just a valve replacement.
