    86 250r swingarm color question

Well....what started off as a carrier bearing replacement has turned quickly to a lonestar dual row carrier,jp +4 axle, lsr fade nut and lsr rotor as well as rear shock rebuild. Not to mention swingarm bearings, new lower link bushings and the like. My ??? after a lot of research.....powdercoat or paint?? I got the swinger down to bare metal after a few hours....sanding,wire wheel and my mini sand blaster I called a reputable powder coat guy the vintage bike shop locally uses and he said 40-60 dollars. That is depending on him being able to match the color?? I have seen swingarms primed and painted with duplicolor universal gold and they look pretty good to me. What is the closest match on the powder color if I go that route?? I am thinking I will. I know the powder is durable but can he get it close to the stock color?? Would like some input or pics if ya got em...thanks

Everything you see pictured is powder coated, except the carrier. I have in the past painted all my parts, but for a couple reasons I am now having parts powder coated. The cost of paint and the toxic nature of base coat/clear coat urethanes....assuming you have the compressor and paint gun.

The guy who did the work did a great job matching the gold, and finding the right silver for the axle and components. That swingarm will be on a trike that will be ridden so we shall see about durability.

Buster Brown at some point linked to the gold powder he found to be a very close match.
