Possible to take starter off 85 200M?

I'm curious because I want to bolt this in my 200X frame and I heard the starter is in the way. Do you need the starter? I don't use the electric start anyways.

I have never done this swap, But I have been told and have read that the frame just needs dimpled a little to install the motor with the starter.

As far as removing the starter and running without it. I am sure you can remove the starter and run the motor without it. You will need to come up with a plug or cover to seal the hole where it fits. You may or may not have to remove some of the internal gears as well.
