    Why I bought my 84 BigRed 200es - Work!

Well when the old girl is running I use it to get back to the bush and haul wood. I live out in the sticks and have no gas line so I heat with forced air electric and the wood stove. Obviously I like to burn more wood then electricity. ( 9 cents a KW at peak time) The pics attached are just before I put on the new tank. On this day it was wet from rain and she pulled this load out of the bush without a effort or even a spin from the tires. What a workhorse!

My 200ES spends just as much time hauling a trailer and chainsaw here as well! Right now it has a plow on it to and it does snow removal duty as well.

You said you had to replace the tank, what was wrong with your original?

ID:	160000Love my 200es Big Red. Its the low range that I like the best for hauling and making my own path through the woods.

kebby28...Looks like you need to invest in a trailer there buddy! Ha ha. Cool picture though. Looks somewhat vintage. If the trike was in a bit better condition, I'd almost pass it off as a Honda ad.

Okay, so I'm not the only one that feels that way too eh. I bought an '85 Big Red a few months ago, and wasn't totally impressed with the pulling power. I mean don't get me wrong, it definetly gets the job done, but I think I was expecting a lot more from the "Big brother" of the Big Reds.

Anyone know if there's much difference is towing/hauling ability between the '83 Big Red (200e chain drive) and the '84 Big Red (200es shaft drive)?

if they had the same tires on them you could get a chain and hook them up ?

I've watched a few videos on utube with Reds plowing. Might be a project down the road?
As for the tank. It has 2 patches on it when I bought it. They would sweat fuel and beyond repair. Was thinking of a steel OEM but the cost drove me to the plastic aftermarket. Mind you had to cut the snorkle back 3" to get it to fit.

I believe the owners manual for the 84 200es is 700 pound tow capacity with a 30 pound tongue
