    Gas line

    WELP, THE ETHANOL apparently ate the feul lines in my newer chainsaws.... so i went to a store and bought the feul line kit and installed it...( after 15 minuites fighting to get the feul line down threw the plastic hole into the tank ) welp.... i filled it with gas and not long after the feul line shrunk and gas was leaking ... i called a local repair shop and the guy said thats what happens .... do i just throw the saws away and get the old homelite xl-12 with a 20" bar from the 60's out to cut up some 2" limbs ???

    I had the same problem with my Homelite trimmer. I ended up drilling out the hole in the tank to suit a slightly larger OD hose and pushed it up from the bottom, put the filter on it and pulled it back down rather than fight from the top. Hope this helps.

    I have had to do that same thing, drill out and go up a size. I had an old Homelite trimmer that no matter what it seemed like that kept leaking, i finally fixed it with a bulkhead line passthrough, i connected the fuel line and filter for inside the tank to the fitting then fished it up into the hole in the tank with a piece of wire then put a rubber washer under the nut that holds it in place.

    Absolutely not! I have one from the 80's and after 5 minutes of use my hands are numb and in pain from the vibration! Junk.. But, at least mine works

    Yeah, not sure what fuel lines are best.

    I got the best stuff that NAPA has and it lasts a couple months before it start to
    'melt' and get sloppy.

    The lines Schnitz Racing and Pingle sell is about as good as it gets for different fuels, but I'm unsure of the sizes they stock.

    I have had good luck with Tygon fuel line when the stock lines go bad. The stock lines are JUNK!
