Cool Neato Bandito Stroke Me Build!

O Well I Guess it's time. Been gathering parts for over a year now. I'm am no expert, but kind of know what I'm doing. Thank you members who have built similar builds and posted them here in the past for I am basically following in your footsteps. With most of the hurdles out the way this build should not be dragged out too long, but be patient I still have some i's to dot and T's to cross. For an appetizer Here's the motor. Picked it up in running condition. Didn't even smoke. I polished most the case up to 2000 grit. Replaced it's tight low hour 54mm crank sl90 converted tranny. After scouring the web I've managed to score all I need for the manual clutch conversion. Most of it Wound up being NOS. New discs and springs especially. Now for the top end, the piston rings and cylinder were in great shape so I honed it alittle blasted it and gave it a nice high heat paint job and baked it to cure properly. Oh forgot to mention piston is 54mm domed high compression. Not sure the make or ratio but think the original owner said 11:1 or 12:1. To finish the top end I'll run one of the three aftermarket cams I've got. One mild and two 3/4 racing cams. Not to mention a light port and polished exhaust port and slightly opened intake port to match the pk intake. So there's the motor. Stay tuned. Same three wheel time. Same three wheel channel. I've still got a small wish list to fill which Maybe some of you can help with and probably some guidance. Thanks for looking. Criticism and tips welcome.Click image for larger version.

ID:	160141 P.S. and Yes it got new bearings, seals, gaskets, valves, and heavy duty valve springs. When I do something I try and do it right. With bore and stroke it's 125cc.

Going to be watching this build. I like your engine build.
I picked up a Bandito frame recently because of all the cool custom 90/110 I have seen on here. I,m still gather some of the parts right now.

Thanks for the interest my peps. This site has inspired me also. Here's the bandito frame I'm using. Had it shipped from San Diego. 30+ year old chrome is holding up still. Of course it's not perfect it has character. I've spent time here and there oiling and polishing. Replaced bearings, and covered up some rust above the rear with brush on undercoat. Waiting for steering stem roller bearings and I've got to weld a steering stop back on. Then I can start building it. That is a NOS axle. Click image for larger version.

Very cool. I have been working on my Bandito over the winter. I just found two sl90s in an abandoned trailer. I need to pay attention to your build so I can start on the motor.

It's hard enough to find 1 sl90 motor and you found 2. Sweet find!

Time to give an update. Parts are piling up. 18 in Turf Tamers arrived and I mounted them with some 3 inch axle extenders and stock hubs painted red to match. Rear fender is stock but trimmed to be unique complements of Gutpilejunkie. Seat is also ready.
In addition are some Sweet footpegs compliments of Kasey, a sixpack rack and the front forks. The trees are BAPP with some BBB Motorsport shock tubes. Don't know much about the shock tubes but they are off a Chinese built pit bike I believe. When fitted to the trees level at the top they sit 2 inches higher than a stock rigid fork. Not sure if I'll keep them.
Can't forget the NOS vented front fender which is waiting with the gas tank to get under paint.
My exhaust will have a few options. 2 Bassanis (only one pictured), a NOS Cobra, or a Supertrapp.
I was baffled to find out that my NOS rear axle takes an 18mm castle Nut and not the stock 14mm. Anyone can chime in if they've seen this before. Or am I the only one.
So what's holding me up from slapping it together you ask. I need to order my 40 tooth rear sprocket and hit up a machine shop for an extended front axle. Hopefully I can get at it in the next week or two. So till next time keep the rubber facing down and stay warm.

ID:	165394 Cleaned up and swapped the countershaft for a NOS sl90 countershaft. Can't wait to see the top end on it Bryan.
So back to the build I Did some mocking up and all Looks good except I'll need some longer risers to get the handlebars off the trees. That is the seat I'll be using but this fender is Just for mock up. I'm not taking it out the crate it came in till I'm ready. Once I get the extended front axle, which should be a week or so. I'll get her on rubber and mount the motor. Let the paint and powdercoat begin.Click image for larger version.

What's with the clubman style handlebars, won't they have you sitting on your balls?

From the pic it Does look like you'd be laying down but it's not the case when you sit on it. Although I am ordering a set of 3-4 inch risers to get the bars off the trees for room for the controls. Not sure how much sitting I'll be doing as it's a flattrack racer and not for putt'n around especially when running an air cooled easy to overheat motor. Seen the same bars on another board members 90 ice racer. Should improve handling with a lower center of gravity.
