85 big red side case help !
ok so i took the side case off to look at the kick starter and now when i try to put it back on it will not go on even with the kick starter shaft out and the reverse lever shaft out i think the shift shaft will not go in the roller barring in the case. any body have the same problem or have any tipes on how to get it on? thanks

I'll bet its hanging up in the front of the cover. The bearing in the cover for the centrifical clutch is a bear to line up. The cover has to be perfectly straight for the bearing to start on the crank and likewise if the bearing stayed on the crank when you pulled it off. The auto-clutch lever has to be straight up at 12 oclock.

Tip the trike up.... Almost on its side... Sounds funny, but helps to get it lined up.
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

I never tried that. A soft mallet also helps. Once the bearing starts, it should drop right on.

thank u guys i got it on now it was that barring on the clutch
