It looks like my CDI may be about, along with the source coil. Anyone know of replacements? Such as a kx125, ke250 kfx 250, etc. I cant seem to locate a tecate 3 CDI for cheap.

How about another CDI possibly working. KX 250, KX 125 of the same era. KDX 400 KDX175, all have the same connectors and housing. Just not 100% sure.
I'm going to open this 1 up, see if it is dead. And if so, repairable.

if the source coil is bad,how can you know if the cdi is bad also?

you can test the resistance across the wires with a multimeter. The manual tells you how to do it...

That CDI looks different than mine. Its not as wide. Im sure they do the same thing. Maybe mines just extra wide?The owner was an avid dirt bike rider, maybe he swapped it. I cant read the part number, its mostly scratched off.
