Question to the TriMoto 175 guys?

So I picked up this little beauty for a song..it's a bit cold blooded but most of it seems to be there and runs well when warm..

PO said he had the carb apart and cleaned it but still it has a lack off power when you try to push into the higher revs.

Pretty sure I spotted the problem as I looked it over but need an opinion from someone more familiar with these small 2strokes.

The exhuaust has no baffle insert..it's completely wide open and loud as heii!!

I am guessing that this is the top end power problem, without the baffle present to provide some back-pressure the exhaust tuning is out the window..

Is my logic sound??

Second, anyone know what baffle cartridge I could use to resolve this? I check Ebay and most of the exhaust system for this unit on there are looking pretty hurtin' and some are missing their baffles also.

yes i would get a baffle but there could be more to the problem then that because the yt175 i own ran and revved up without bogging without one but that will change when i start putting it back together as i have picked one up.

Thanks Alex, I guess I'll start with the basics and work up. Many times I've bought a machine and the seller had a list of things they'd done, just to check it and find they either lied or did a half-azz job. He said he'd cleaned the carb..the obvious thing.

I guess this will be my next 1st time as its my 1st 2stroke Yammy..I enjoy those and the learning new things that go with it.

Of course I'll get the insert, but it's good to hear it from someone that knows from experience if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
