Hydraulic Clutch Swap-200X

I have seen a couple kits for these and am planning on using one in the near future. Any experience with them? Anyone swap to this type of setup before? Pictures are welcomed

I have searched and all I see is people saying "I have one" or "they are useless" Looking for more concrete information on them. I am using one anyway but want to look into it before I get it done.

if you do the swap, the cheapo chinese egay oens SUCK. they leak and do not hold. you need to get a quality unit. i purchased one of the ebay cheapos and never got to use it, it leaked from day one. I still have to dig it out of my pile of stuff and try to find the tonyest o-rings to repalce the damaged oens the factory cut during instillation. this is pretty common as they do not take any kind of care during assembly of parts in china.

Yeah, I learned that with a cheap front MC from ebay. It will definitely be a decent one

Why do you want to run a hydraulic clutch? Just one more thing to break, leak or maintain. I know the good assemblies (Magura etc) are tough but nothing beats the simplicity of a cable, especially for a woods bike. "Simplicity breeds reliability"

Because I run a shorty lever and HD springs. Even with a new cable the pull is tight. These are supposed to be more efficient as far as pull force goes, And if it does break, I always keep spare parts in a ride bin I bring with on all rides. Because if my hydraulic clutch does go out in the trails, I can always limp it back without the clutch and drop the new cable and regular lever on in a matter of minutes.

Bottom line is, I want to try one. If it breaks I have no problem swapping back to a cable. I completely agree with the simplicity idea

I bought a used one and never installed it.guy had good feedback on eBay.its for a ltr450.$75 shipped and its yours.brand is streamline

I will tell you this I own one and is installed on my 1988 trx 250r, and boy is it sweet easy lever pull and a major difference between a brand new cable. Only issues are they are a pain in the ass to bleed system but it is nice. Oh and it is a billitanium system real pricey but well worth it.

I got mine specifically to end the cable maintenance. I put it on years ago and I've never done anything to it since.

From what I have seen, the quality units are generally issue free. Maybe most of the bad experiences were with cheap Chinese units? Anyway, thanks for the input! I will have one on order in the next few weeks after my engine is finished being built

cool, so what are the quality units? I would lvoe to put one on my 200x as well as my 350x and my son's racing ATV. we are goign to be moving him to manual clutch in 2014 and it woudl help a ton.

So far the top of the line ones I know of are Magura. They seem to be most popular.
