    200x motor in a 185s, Thoughts?

    I know the 185 motors fit in the 200x, but will a 200x motor fit in a 185? are they any taller then a 185 motor? Thoughts anyone? Ive got an extra 200x motor (1984) thats mint and I would like to get some use out of it !

    Well I just got an 84 200x.. and threw my 200M motor in it.. I would gladly get some use out of it =)

    It won't be long before someone who's done it, comes to the rescue.

    The hard part will be trying to NOT sell it to a 200x person.


    I have an auto x I can measure and take pix for you but not sure it will help since you want to go the other way.

So im just hoping its possible to do I think it would be neat. I was a little drunk in the garage with some buddys and we thought what would come of a 200x and a 185 "mating"

    The issue is the 200x kickstarter and the 185s foot peg design , you wont be able to start the 200x motor LOL .

    I have not been up close and personal to a 185s, but what I do know is that a 83-85 200x engine fits right into a 200s trike with no issues at all. It seems that everyone puts the s engine into an x to make the auto x, but I like things different, so I went the other way. I loved that trike, it was a blast. I just wish that I didnt get rid of it.

    Ok so if the issue is kick start I know a crf230 motor would work with a battery box

    I have a 1980 185 the on with the 25 inch tires and was wandering the same thing its my mud bogger and i want an engine that isnt pull start cause it always gets water in it and it would be a good power upgrade

    Why not just take the 200x cylinder, head, and piston and slap em onto your 185 bottom end? There ya go, 200x in a 185

    Why not. Things should all line and if you're not looking for rear suspension and have the engine ready to go, it could be done in a few hours. Worst case... if you don't like it, switch it back.
