    Duplicating plastic lenses

Did anyone see that on American Restoration?

I caught about 3.7 seconds but it looked like.....
they made a mould of the old one with some pink latex/dental mould looking stuff and then somnehow injected the correct color plastic and came up with 'new' ones.

Seems like it was blinker plastics for an odd, bullnosed scooter of some sort.

    Ya think??? :LOL

Not knocking anyone, I have seen this on many different things so this pertains to all of them:
It's funny how doing such things ( this example: Part reproduction ) have been mentioned here on the forums more than a few times with links and info included. How ever it takes someone watching a TV show to mention it like it's "Something New".

I really like how they made it look so easy....they never showed the part where you have to vacuum the mold, and then pressure cast the clear plastic...notice they never really showed the finished product
