Hello all,
Thanks for having me on your Forum! So let me tell you how i ended up joining, if you got a couple minutes? My Three wheeler involvement started with a purchase of my 250sx in rough shape (200.00 dollars) for a potential Go kart/dune buggy project about two years ago. It had no plastic, seat, or tank and the the front tire was ripped open. I had no concern over those things for i only wanted the power train and electronics. The engine ran good and the guy had the back propped up to show it went through gears, so i bought it. Now the more i worked on welding up a buggy frame the less interested in it i got, my two boys are getting older and no longer ride the go karts we have so....i decided to scrap the project. so there sat a pitiful looking three wheeler to be stripped of usable goods and sold on E-bay.... or fix er up? I decided what the heck, fix it up and use it around the yard for hauling a yard trailer or something. the more i got into working on it and replacing missing and broken parts the more i really started liking this little three wheeler, hell i even went out and bought a brand new Arctic Cat four wheeler for the boys or my wife to go with me on evening trail rides in anticipation of wanting to ride this old ATC more than just around the yard! as of now i got her going, but not without some troubling problem yet to repair....not long after i started riding it, third gear popped out while riding and has been missing in the line up ever since. No grinds..just no gear. I thought about giving up at this point and putting it on creigslist but...after taking it out yesterday on a gentle ride...i decided..NO IM KEEPING this DAMN thing CUZ i REALLY LIKE IT ...lol Sooooo i will be picking brains on the Forum to help me solve my Tranny problems, but keep in mind im not a bad mechanic with some basic tools but i have never dug into a motorcycle engine and transmission before..i downloaded a free copy of service manual but still a little timid so...anyway, thanks for hearing my story and any help is greatly appreciated.![]()
