    Easy 250sx question

What size are the handlebars. I'm at work and want to order heated grips for it. Are they 3/4 or 7/8??

Those will be too big for the bars and they draw 12 amps. Harleys have that kind of amperage available but not the SX. Look at some of the ATV parts houses. They do make grip warmers for 7/8 bars but do pay attention to the amperage requirements.

That listing is a bit confusing. It says 12.6v 12 amps 35w. Wattage divided by voltage gives you amps. 35 watts divided by 12 volts = 2.91 amps so how they say 12 amps and 35 watts is not right. Stick to the ATV grip warmers. They are designed for smaller stators.

Those are large MC grip warmers.

I have the same exact grip warmers on my SX and they've been on there for over a year. I'm no electrical expert, but they've worked flawlessly for me, with the exception of a slight parasitic draw they create. That's easily remedied though with either a little toggle switch or just disconnecting the battery between rides.

The company that manufactures these grips is called "Bronco ATV Components".

If being warm when riding with temperatures in the 20's makes me a pussy, then go ahead and diddle me. The cold gets downright painful and has ended the day for me early on more than one occasion. No mas.

You sir, are an animal. I couldn't do it. I keep my house at 75-80 degrees and I rarely spend any time outside in the winter. Before I got the heated grips we'd go on these rides and the first break we took my hands would be numb. The numbness is bad enough, but that's just the beginning. Once your hands start to warm up, that's when the real pain begins. My hands have hurt me so bad out there in the past that I was questioning even making these rides at one point. I'm just a skinny little fawker so the cold hits me hard. Not only that, but I smoke which means I have poor circulation.

These guys talk smack now, but I'll be sure to take some pictures on the next ride of them coddling their poor frozen mitts like a bunch of Sallies.
