    Question 185S Power Mods?

I'm wanting more speed and power out of my 185S, and im new to Modifying 3 wheelers, so can you guys tell me what i could do to it? I know i can get a small K&N or equivalent cone air filter for it along with a muffler, but can you Port and Polish the head like you can do on cars and trucks? Or can i step up the size of the Carb or Jets? Or the old " Making the Riding lawnmower faster" trick with a smaller pulley on the rear axle? Im a complete newb about this so any input would be great!!

Thanks! i always run 91 octane because it dosent have any ethanol to gum up the jets.

Hey I just did a 185S a few months ago. If you are going to take the time to pull the top end then all you gotta do is have the cylinder bored to 67mm it's not really possible to go any larger than that on either the 185 or 200S cylinder. You can get a Wiseco 10:1 kit for @$80. I think I paid about $20 for a Vesrah gasket kit. Be sure to adjust your valves and timing chain. I changed out my front sprocket to a larger one. I don't remember the tooth count. This this was stupid fast I mean it was ridiculous for a 185S HUGE compression. It was tough to pull start or push start. I have pics in an album on my page.

All of the above are great suggestions. Honestly I think the best thing to do would be to sell the 185 and buy a 200x for about $200 more. You would gain the power and speed along with a full suspension. Then if thats not enough for you you can hop it up.

I guess in that case you'd at least have the suspension you'd also have reverse. As well as disk brakes- in other words you'd have so much more!

200x does not have reverse. 250SX does.
