NRA signs up 100K new members in the last 18 days, rising the total membership from 4.1 million to 4.2 million.
To put it in context, the NRA has 3.4 Million more members than the ACLU and NAACP combined. 4.2 Mil for the NRA, 300k for the NAACP, and 500k for ACLU. Look what those 2 organizations get done with that few members. We shouldn't even have to worry about new gun laws.
If every current member bought a gift membership for someone else like their wife, we'd have 8 million members. Plus 1 son/daughter/niece/nephew, now we are at 12 million. Add a gun friendly friend/family/neighbor, and we're at 16 million.
In 2010, there were roughly 75 million gun owners (I'm sure it's far higher than that as of recently) in the US. If you hear anyone complain about the current situation, ask them what they are doing to prevent more gun laws. There are other Pro-Gun organizations, but what name is the one you always hear when it comes to fighting federal gun laws. The NRA.
