    Just bought an' 84 200x...

Hi everyone, I've been cruising this site for a while and it's the BEST 3 wheeler site ever. I just bought an 84 Honda 200x. It's going to need a new front and rear fender due to some cracks. But before I take care of the cosmetics, I'd love to hear everyones input on how to get this in tip top running shape.
I'm thinking oil change, new plug, brake fluid flush etc etc etc. Can a synthetic oil be used? What are the things that really need to be done?

Compression check? Should I replace the clutch, rebuild the master cylinders, replace the chain, my list could go on. Also would like to know where is the best source and what brands to use for parts. Thank you!!!

I'd recommend just testing the machine first, and feel the clutch, to see if it feels like the clutch is snowmobiling ( Reving hard and slowly starting to grab) If your brakes work Fine, I'd recommend not touching them, The chain Will need it soon, just check how loose it is, if its really loose, you might want a new back or front sprocket too, for the plug, if it misfires bad, you might want to check that, and the stator to check for burned wires or broken soder. Oil change, i think that might be a given and it will need a new spark plug eventually anyways ( Dr8esl Ngk)

Valvoline sells an "ATV" oil you can buy at just about any auot parts store. I use that alot because it's convenient.

Download a manual if you haven't already.

Even if the brakes work, flush/replace the brake fluid. It probably hasn't been done in 20 years.

Also, check and lube the caliper slide pins if they still move.

    Then the basics
    - Clean and lube very pivot and cable.
    - Check the bearings, front axle, rear axle, steering head
    - Check the chain and sprockets
    - Lube the swingarm pivot if you can get it out.
