After the polish...

is there anything i should put on as far as clearcoat or anything to keep the metal from rusting or anything like that? or does the polish keep it from doing that? thanks

depends what you polished.

aluminum gets a little nasty and you have to keep polishing it with mothers aluminum polish or something similar. my zx7r has a polished frame. it is definitely something you have to keep up with otherwise it starts to look nasty. it looks great though.

if you stripped the paint off steel, then you definitely need something to coat it or it will rust. bare steel rusts fast, unless you live in arizona or something. here in new york if you leave bare steal overnight it will rust. it needs paint or some other type of coating.

go to a paint shop and pick yourself up some clear coat then for the steel. aluminum you do not have to coat.

There is a sealer for polished aluminum that will reduce upkeep on it. One what I know of is called Zoop seal. It is supposed to keep a good polish look for 2 years.
