the 85 has a aftermarket tank. that right there is more then the cost difference between the two of them. The realtors would be nice to have for snow and mud and look basicly new on the 86 but the 85 seems cleaner. never know $1000 cash its local and you can go look at it before you drive 3 hours and get buzzkilled. I will only drive long distances for super cheap things with some goodies on them owner dont know about.
get the 85 and call it a day.
maybe a different approach..if one of these two machine isn't making you want to steal away in the night?? chill!!
there will be others, probably better and closer..maybe keep the money in your pocket and hold out.
I bought many machines but only to see something better a few days/weeks later.
not to say they aren't nice..but there is always something nicer.
I love that feeling driving away thinking..'I couldn't have found a better deal!!!"
Case and point!

When people say the carb needs cleaning, it kind of makes me wonder. How hard is it to take a carb off and clean it? If the owner cant do that, then what has been done to it? Most of the time people will say they dont know much about a bikes history because they dont want to explain the stuff wrong with it. And when you find a problem, they can play dumb and say they didnt know. I have seen too many pieced together and rebuilt bikes done wrong.
That 85 looks nice.
