Tri Z in Nor Cal

Now Ive lived here for last 15 years or so and have only seen 3 or 4 TriZ for sale up here, but this one takes the cake. I contacted the guy cause he ran the add for 6 months with no pic asking $1000. Told him I was intrested but $1000 was high unless it was pretty clean. So emailed back with this same pic and said it runs but will only start with a shot of strating fluid, told me cant go below $750. Needless to say I emailed him back and said I would do $100-200 at best. Havent heard back from him but he did update the ad on craigslist. http://chico.craigslist.org/mcy/3506175644.html. So was I out of line offering him $200?

Im always intrested, but I am actually working on restoring my 86 Z right now. I have seen a few pics of your yellow Z and I am not sure I can afford your work I was mainly just checking it out as there is not alot of Z's up here, but after I seen it I knew it wasnt worth fixing so figured it might make a good parts bike. Thats why I offered him $200. He did email me back and say no way he could go down form $750.
