Does anyone know of any 85 or 86 250r's for sale?

Hello. I am looking for my first 250r. I live in Rochester NY. Does anyone know of any 85 or 86 250r's for sale within a few hour drive? I have $1000 max to spend right now. This is the very high end of what I can spend. I do not mind one that needs some work. I can beg MIK6 for help with this project. I will have a little more money when tax returns come back, but would only go higher on the right machine. I like the r as stock as possible, like they came from Honda. I cannot see the classifieds for a while, so I would appreciate any help you could offer. Thank you.

Yes, I have been searching craigslist. I did find one advertised as an 85 yesterday that is a few hours from me. I had had him send pictures and it was air cooled. Looked like an 83 or 84 to me. The guy really believes it is an 85. It clearly is not. If anyone finds one, please let me know. Thank you for responding.

Thanks man! And ebay will be hard to find a deal on. We have driven well over three hours to get bikes we wanted over the last decade; just have to be willing to get in the truck and drive lol. I got a speeding ticket driving to go pick up my 85 250sx back in 2003 lol nothing like being excited to get a new bike

Check craigslist daily, when deals come up people jump on them and the listings disapear lol. If you want a water cooled bike dont settle for an air cooler, the couple hundred you save isnt worth it

If you can't find anything by TF I have a rough chassis project I would let go cheap. Like maybe 100-200$ or less depending on what all is there. You will still need a ton of parts to finish the build and Mik6 will have to make a stop in Ohio to pick it up.

I found a 1985 250r. Mike was heading out to pick it up and the guy changed the story. It had no spark and would not run, but he didn't want to decrease the price. Mike found a second one that ended up being nicer and right down the road from him. He picked it up about an hour ago. I finally have a 250r! It is dirty but should clean up nice!
