Good mods for an 86 200x are the same as any other 3 wheeler. The only difference is the parts are few and far between.

Although if you want to add about 50hp could try adding the ever so rare

I built my 86 200x that I had since new last year and was amazed on the availablity of parts for it. These are allot cheaper to build compared to a 250r. You can get pistons in different compression ratios from wiseco, 3 different cam grinds and springs to match from web cams and you need to send it off to Mickey Dunlap at 4 Stroke Tech for a valve job and a port and flo job. Here's a link to my build thread.

Well I guess there is options for the engine but for other aftermarket parts there isn't alot that is available, at least that I have come across.

The parts are out there. It just takes longer to find them and some $ when you do. Check out my thread from last year. This one took me a few years. It has some hard to find items. Good luck with your X. The 86-87's are great bikes!

Anything can be done to the 86/87 200X

I personally have never had an issue for these. There are cams out there, porting, larger carb, exhaust, etc etc.

I would not go 12:1 ever again because I have to drive a long distance to get fuel for it.

I'd go with a 10.5 to 1 piston as well as the other issues you want to upgrade.
