had same problem with a 250 sx front end. had to beat the tar out of it but eventually got it. brass
is nice but i needed big sledge and put it in a vise. just do not strike directly with steel

and axle.
i like the idea of trying a shop press, i didnt have access to one at the time. just be careful with the setup because the brake cover brakes easy, maybe try leaving all on rim and put in press. just be careful how much pressure you use i have steel and aluminum practically expload in shop press' when people are careless. again use a wood block between press and axle threads.
