I got a 85 200X from a guy and rebuilt most of it, and never put the back half of the system on until now, and don know how many disks to put on and how tight to torque tha screws :?: Anyone have any info :?:

On my 350x supertrapp you dont have to torque the screws very much at all. I have around 10 disk in mine but I also made a custom end cap for it. I'll get a pic for you tommorow.

The less disks the more topend the more disks the more bottom end. As far as torquing them down i have never herd of that.

    thanks guys
    I should'nt have said torque!
I didnt know how compressed the disk should be or how much movement there should be.
Ill have to play with it .
    thanks

Nos350x I think you got that switched around. More discs is letting out more exhaust so more power at the exception of a louder sound output. Less disc will give a lower sound output at the exception of a little less power versus more discs. You may be right but when i had only 7 discs on mine it didnt seem to have near as much power with my custom end cap and 10 discs.

right...the more discs the more top end. less=more bottom. they also recommened a jet change if you are using more or less than 6-8 discs. also...more=leaner....less = richer.(this is all according to the directions)

cew73... my bolts were stuck/hard to remove (particularly the bottom ones), I hosed them with liquid wrench, let them set and worked them out very carefully. When I put it back together I pit a little anti-seize on the bolt ends

Heres a pic of the supertrapp on my 85 250sx... I run 14 discs, K/N filter, airbox lid is hole-sawed and carb has a 140 main jet (stock is 130). It runs somewhat rich. I'm planning on jetting it down as I ride mostly on trails and pasture (little high speed throttle)

14 discs VS open end: the exhaust sounds the same.
