~STRANGE~ Tri Z Tube in Engine (What is it?)

    Hey Guys,

I just noticed this nipple/vent on the left side of my Tri Z case. What is this? Is it a vent tube?

I had bad crank seals on this bike..and I am wondering if the vent tube is blocked and this blew out my seals due to crank case pressure?

QUESTION: Can someone with a Z blow through their tube and see if any air goes in? Mine won't let me blow any air in at all...so I am thinking it might be clogged?

I stuck a wire in there to clean it out...but still can't blow or suck out any air.

That is a transmission case ventilation tube and if it was blocked the worst thing that should happen is that you would seep out of the countershaft seal, or the shifter shaft. The reason air won't go in when you blow is that the cases are sealed. Remove the oil filler cap before you blow and it should pass air with no resistance. The one on the otherside located on the cylinder provides a pulse to your fuel pump. If you go to a gravity fed tank you must cap or seal it or you will ruin your engine.
