    Tecate 3 Backfire

My Tecate has been a pain in the arse to start and backfires through the exhaust at the bottom of the kick. The motor has recently been rebuilt. Is the backfire normal?

The fuel air mixture may be a little lean. Does it all out backfire or let out a few little pops?

The motor is freshly rebuilt, I strted it , ran it for @ 5 min.Shut it down ,for a little while than kicked started it and it fired right up. Now when I try to kick it, it wont start, but does pop at the bottom of the kick. It did backfire pretty loud one time. Maybe I should try push starting, or, what do you think? When it started for the first time it ran great after @ 20 sec.. I just put in a new plug>
