    Question 250r switch setup

hey everyone, new to the site just joined last night. I am currently building up a nice 85 250r. I am just wondering if anyone had any input on relocating the light switches on/off high low. i am going to use a tether cord kill switch on the bars because I don't want the switch body on there. I have a polished thumb throttle, polished front brake res. and black asv shorty levers. all on blue renthal fatbars. I like my bars to be as clean and tidy as possible. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on moving my light switches somewhere else on the trike?

How about just running the lights on all the time?
I figure, if the hi-lo is out of sight, it's out of reach and worthless anyway.
Just use the tether for kill and no need for another kill switch.

Might be kind of a PIA, but how about a pair of toggle switches mounted tidily between the bar clamps on the lower, main bar?? There they would be easily accessible, and I would think you would be able to make it look pretty clean and neat.

Really the option is yours. The run/stop switch is hooked between frame ground and the CDI. When you slide the switch to stop, it connects the ground to the CDI killing its operation. The lights are just switches so you could do anything you want. Get creative. The wiring diagram tells you everything you need to know to modify the electrical. Blow it up big, it helps.

Hell, you could use a an SX dash. Put a key switch on it instead of a run/stop slide switch. FIll in the cutouts on the SX dash where the lights go with 2 part epoxy then you could drill for switches. Then float a thin layer of black spray paint over the dash after all the drilling is done. Assemble and wire. All you would need is a complete SX dash, the bar clamps from an SX that has the little ears with grommets and the two plastic locking pins. EASY!!!!!!! HMMMMMM, I may do this to one of my Rs. The 87s were built with a key switch but as we all know, they never left Japan and were destroyed.
