The 351 will be tight but take into consideration I am gonna shave my firewall which will also be moved back to accomidate the motor and I am not going to be running inner fenders or very much of them. Also massaging the headers. Shouldnt be too much trouble seeing I'm have my trade in welding and iron work. Plus the swap isnt gonna take place untill November and i have untill may or June to do it.

Here is my super modded, ultra clean 85 S-15 with an 87 "small block" 2.8L V6 Dog . Trust me.... it looks worse in person than in the photos .

    Too funny !

I had an '84 Ranger with the ultra-modded 2.8L with headers and 2 barrel carb. Had just enough power to ... ... ... pull itself off of a wad of gum on a hot summers eve. Love my Fords but THAT truck, was the biggest P.O.S. that I have ever owned. I only own Fords.

I have owned Ford, Chevy, and Toyota, sadly the toyota had a rusted out frame and sat around 15 years waiting for body rust repairs that never happened. The ford had a 2.3L with the dual plugs per cyl, one bad coil = 65mph max speed unless the wind is behind you, then you can sneak up to around 75mpg, oh did I say it got around 15mpg like that . S-15 so far has been a better truck for being reliable, but it has received the rust cancer long long ago. Oh it takes around a mile to get upto 50-55ish lol. Once I burn a whole take up (holds over 20 gal O.o), I'll know what kind of mpg it gets, looking like around 20 which isn't bad for an automatic 4x4.

I won't rat on Fords, since overall they are pretty good machines, I just don't support the Ford engines so well, prefer Oldsmobile engines, but with them you are stuck with v8s 350 or 455 from the late 60s into the 70s. Seems like Chevy cab door pins keep their alignment better, ford owners always slam the doors, Chevy owners just shut theirs... except mine is rusted so bad i have to slam mine too . Never seen a Toyota that had to be slammed, Mazda seems pretty good too for the smaller trucks.

I need to lower my 1998 Ford F150 but the mods I've done so far might interest a few....or really piss you off. There seems to be no one in the middle. I dropped a mildly modified GM 5.3 and T56 six speed into it. Just got it going days ago so I still have some minor issues like permanent ECU placement...etc. to finish. Next I will address the suspension including lowering it about 3". Have to do a brake job this week which will include slotted rotor, steel braided hose lines and EBC brake pads. The engine bay picture is a preliminary fitment shot. It looks a lot dressier now.
