    Help a lost wet soul

    I have a 225DR that was one of the nicest wheelers I have owned till the other day when it went for a swim. It took over 1/2 hour to get it out from under the water and everything was full of water. I got it flushed out good but now I have very week spark and are looking for a little insight for someone who knows someone that pulled the same BONEHEAD stunt I pulled.

    Coil might be shot? Know anyone you can swap parts with locally?

    I have one on the way from eBay. Figured a spair would not hurt even if it is not the problem it may be a issue someday. Will keep updating on my findings.

    I dont know jack about 225s but you could have water in the stator??

    I would take it apart as much as I could and let it dry out for at least a week before I even tried starting it.

    Had the coil checked and it is good working on getting the stator checked now. And going through all the wiring and hitting it with cleaner and dryer to see if there is something wet in the wiring still.

    Found out the exciter coil was bad in the stator. waiting on the new one to get here and put it all back together and see what happens. Had a torpedo heater setting on it for a few hours the other day so I hope we got most of the water out of her so she can run again.

    i did the same thing to a 2011 420 es and i let it set there for about a hour and then wired across the solinoid and drove it home... i had about 2 quarts of water in my oil... still made it home changed oil and filter and used it to pull a 80'' mower the next day ran great, cant kill a honda

    Yeah I got the coil today and put everything back together and the thing fired up first pull. I have a few more oil changes to do tomorrow but it will be ready for my daughter this weekend. I always thought she hated the thing till it was down a week and then the truth comes out. Just glad to see another generation wanting to keep the old trikes going.
