I need some help finding a ring gear and axle for my 85 Honda 250Sx, I've looked on Ebay and several other places and can't find the ring great itself anywhere. Would greatly appreciate any help..

I have 6 trashed diffs in the attic. Tomorrow I'll get up and see if there's a good ring gear but you might be better off buying a whole diff that needs rebuilt. I have the tools to rebuild them and wont kill you on price. I have a bearing and seal kit sitting here already. I believe I also have an 85 axle in the attic.

Sound great, I've stripped the splines between my axle and ring gear and have new seals and bearings in this differential already, kinda why on trying to just get a new ring gear

I will be at the shop tomorrow and will do some checking. I know I have a 85 250es axle and differential in great shape, but I know the differential is geared different and the axle has a different part number.

Why change the gear? The problem is only the spline in the gear? Keep your gear,just change the splined bushing,it's just pressed in the gear. trx300,trx250 250sx and 250es use all the same.

Gotcha. I'll scope it out tomorrow. Just know that the ring and pinion gears are match machined so mismatching ring and pinion gears can cause a mild to severe growl.

What kind of price range are you looking at? I have basically a complete 250sx in rideable shape but has no plastics and the entire front end is a 250es with a bad gas tank. Might be willing to part it out if I can get a fairly large item sold off it such as the rear end or engine.
