85 250sx intakes

my 250sx intake is shot so I been chasing part numbers and it says this intake is discontinued..so i tracked up the 4 wheelers till 2000..other than a number change it appears the same intake was used on the trx 300 just made beefier and it lost the spacer plate along the way...I went on ebay and photo checked them and all the years seem to be identical...has anyone ever done this swap?...a new one from Honda is only 25 bux and seems to be better option than 30 for a used ebay one...so fill me in if youre in the Know and save me 25 bux

I already ordered one off Ebay..the idea is Im tracking part numbers through Honda and comparing pics to see if newer bikes will interchange..I think Ive got it figured just needed some input from somebody who has tried the same thing...

The 86/87 models ditched the spacer plate and used what I'm guessing a slightly longer boot.
