1985 Honda ATC 250R starting issue

I have a 1985 ATC 250R ... It started fine all winter . Now I have issues with starting it . Most of the time it does but at least three times it just won't kick over. So I tried push starting it and it fired up. It runs great...could it need just a simple tune up ? If not I'm clueless

Start simple, replace the sparkplug with a new one, properly gapped. If the fuel in the tank is old, drain it and replace with fresh. Check the air filter, if dirty clean or replace it.

If the problem still persists, start checking things like compression, thoroughly clean the carb, check for air leaks.

Start with the simple stuff first and work your way to more serious issues as you eliminate simple solutions....

Yes I'll do those things ... I push started it and rode it around for 15 minutes and it ran great . I'll have to change all the filters and clean the carb. Thanks for the feedback ... I also turned the gas off lol ... I usually forget to do that
