HELP!!! Goki atc 200s wiring is killing me!

Hey guys I need your help, wiring is NOT my strong point and this thing is driving me nuts.

I have a NEW battery, fully charged and working mint. I have tried to find a wiring diagram, all I have found is for a 350x and oddesey.

This is how I have it hooked up. Sol bolted to battery box that is bolted to frame

Wire from battery + to sol
Wire from battery to - ground on frame

Wire from other main terminal sol to starter. As far as I know that is all correct. This is where I get a little mixed up,

I have a brand new dirtbike killswitch is start this thing.

I have my positive wire from my killswitch going to sol (where my + battery hooks up)
I have my negative wire from my KS going to switch on my other side of sol

I have my yellow ground( from factory harness) going to the other side of sol ( where the wire from starter hooks up)

I can touch the killswitch wires and get it to start up,

BUT as soon as I bolt in to the handlebars the positive wires start smoking and cook the wire.

    What is wrong????

Without looking at any of your parts and with no Goki experience...

Kill switches usually ground to handlebar. So, when you bolt it to the handlebar, you're shorting + to ground.

Looking at a wiring diagram, I think you need to hit the small terminal on the solenoid with + to make it work.

I'd try a different switch. Any $5 "interrupt" or starter type switch from local parts store should work.

Switch is brand new as well. I do not have a ground from the starter to the frame but im assuming it grounds via the motor?

Its so weird, I can touch the wires heading to the killswitch and it starts right up.

As soon as I try and connect them to the handlebars they smoke like a old lady at bingo.

Is there any chance the sol is backwards? Can that be done? wrong starter cable and battery cable on wrong terminals?

Ive followed everything on that diagram, but the diagram but not show a switch grounded. This where I am different.

I had the yellow one on the wrong terminal.

But same deal as before. My killswitch is grounding to the frame unlike the oddeseys (bolted to plastic from what ive seen)

OK, so I'm not a professional electrician and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but here goes my thinking on this

What I highlighted in red (I believe) is your main clue.
Without pics it sounds to me like you just have the wrong style switch. You need a "momentary on" switch like jb2 suggested. It sounds like your switch is completing the circuit when you mount it since it is a kill switch.

Yup thanks for the help guys!!!

I ended up using a rubber strap and electrical tape to insulate the handlebars. Works like a charm!!!

Going to have to get a proper switch soon, but this works!

    Thanks again!
