I have been interested in finding an 86 or 87 200x for a rider. Found this on craigslist but the guy does not list the year. I know the picture is TERRIBLE but can anyone safely say weather it is an 86 or 87?

Looks to be a first gen 200x. Looks to be an 1984 due to the seat color and swingarm. Someone confirm this?

Yes, it will be an '84. Rear plastics are incorrect though, don't know what they are from

Based on the little bit of the top end of the motor and the length of the silencer I think first gen 200x as well.
86-87 will have square tube frame.

Okay so square tube frame like the 350X is probably the best way of determining an 86/7 in the future it sounds like! Thanks you guys! I will keep trolling craigslist all over new england until the right deal pops up!

350X frame is also round. 2nd gen 200X is square. Unmistakable sexy bodywork. 6 speed instead of 5. Very swoopy curves.

Here is my 87 200X, the 86 model is more common . Mine is near mint and most would say it is mint but in my opinion MINT is like a new machine barley or never ridden or still in the crate. Notice the square tube frame and the engine ,everything is different from the 1983-85 ATC200X. Sorry this one is not for sale
