    81' & 82' 250R's Any Good?

I have found 2 250R's, 1 an 82', and the other a 81'. Are the Trikes any good? Can they be built into something "nice" and "fast"? Are there plastic tanks available for them? Can your purchase aftermarket swing arms, silencers, etc..? Thanks for any help!

Well here is the deal on them. 1 needs assembly (Bars, Plastics, Seat, Etc.) #2 needs seat recovered and just cosmetic work. They both run and the are only $450 bucks for the both of them..good deal or not? Thanks again for the help..

$450 sounds like a real good deal to me...u could always be them and then keep one and sell the other(whats left of it) and use the money to buy a liquid cooled R.

Yeah. I think I may just buy the one that needs less work for about $200 or so and fix it up. I guess it would make a fairly good trail bike. Thanks guys...This site is great!...

The 81+82 R's were very "GOOD" trikes. Nice handling, good power. The suspension was lacking a bit. To bad not enough people give them credit they deserve.

there OK if you like hitting high speeds with a unstable cheap-o suspension thing with 3 huge balloon tires, the 81/82 R's are just like 90's on steriods, not a bad machine though, sounds like a good deal

I would buy it... My friend had a atc200 that he ramps.... no suspension I am sure that 81 R is better than the 82 200 ....

If you really want to ramp buy it fix it up and make it clean sell it you should be able to get a pretty good amount of profit, save up anyone 500-700 and buy a liquid R.
