Ok I unbolted the bolt couldn't get the axle off I messed up the castles beating the thing I heated it up with a torch on the spacer on the other side of axel and it went in flush with shock and still wont come out used pb blaster and were is a good place to get new axle can't find on ebay and its a 83 200e honda and what are some good tires and is it better to replace the rims I was told I should go to a one piece instead of two piece rim

In response to your questions now..there is not easy way to get a siezed axle out sometimes. I have found that if you can get the axle unthreaded from the left shock you can undo the cap on the right and remove the wheel. then unbolt the rim and put the hub in a vice to get a better handle on it..then using a punch and go at it.

If you are tire hunting, you might as well go rim hunting..the split rims are a pain to RE&RE tires from and usually the corrosion around the rim halfs make it tough to get a good seal once broken.

Check the classifieds section..there are bound to be members with the parts you need for the asking..

I tried removing the front axle bolt on my 84 200ES (same exact front end as your 83 200E) but mine wouldn't budge. What happens is that the steel bolt siezes (in a major way) to the aluminum spacer and the fork sliders. Mine came out... in three pieces after I used the sawzall to cut the bolt. I was able to drive the remaining pieces out of the fork legs, but not the spacer. The bolt was pretty much welded to the aluminum spacer.

So, I can't offer up any real suggestions for getting your bolt out (intact anyway) but for sure, if you get replacement parts, invest in some anti sieze and coat the heck out of the bolt. I make that part of my annual maintenance now. I try to pull out bolts like that and reapply anti sieze when getting the machine ready to ride in the spring.

sawzall and a press to get the last pieces out may be your best option. I have had to do it with swinger bolts before

I just stripped a 200e down. I bought it off a farmer, it had been used for chores for years. Covered in cow crap. The funny thing about this is, I fought with everything on this rusty beast, excpt the front axle. Had the front tire and hub in the parts pile in maybe 5 minutes.

How do you take the right cap off? What size rims can I use?
