Why you should always wear a helmet!

My son was riding today and found out why he should always wear a helmet. While turning a corner that he has done thousands of times a bolt came out of his shock causing him to be ejected from the machine. Luckily he had on a helmet and was not injured. His friend just happened to get it on video.

And he lives to ride another day..there was a time I used to come home and say.. 'If I didn't fall off at least once in a ride I wasn't learning something'!!

Today he did just that..I'm sure he got up, dusted off and got back on!

What shock bolt came out to cause that? Looks to me like his outside tire just dug in..

It's a non linkage shock so IDK??

However, still makes a great point regardless and he seemed to know how to roll away which is most important. At my age I feel like the Coyote waiting to drop an ACME safe on my body

I went out to hit the trails tonight at 8PM and decided it was just to dark to be double jumps! Regardless of gear.

Dirtcrasher, it is an 86 and it has linkage. I put the video up there but for some reason it doesn't show on my phone, but if I come to this thread on my computer the link is there.

Sure glad your son wasn't hurt. I can give you some great ideas for a Birthday present-- Wheel Spacers, and maybe even a set of 18" Low Pro's. Trust me, he'll love it.

A lady came into my shop the other day with her 8 year old with his arm in a sling..I asked what he did and expected a cool 'little boy horsing around' story. Seems he fell out of his computer chair while wrestling with his brother over who's turn it was..

    REALLY..weak!!

At least the trike wipe out is a cool story to take to school..his classmate would've thought he was the man especially with a video!!

But seriously, glad he wasn't hurt!

We got a new office chair a cpl years back.. Told the girls,,,NO SPINNING IN THE CHAIR !! I went to make home made ice cream while the family and neighbors sat down to a card game. 3 minutes,,oldest Daughters coming out for ice. They spun in the chair and our middle one broke her wrist.. They still spin every chance they get.. WTF is WRONG with us humans !!!

I think we should start a petition..I'm seeing a trend here.

How many more of our children have to suffer before someone does something! Those damned chairs should be outlawed!!
