Well I have finally joined the illustrious, world renowned club of multiple ATC owners!
I have been shopping for a 6 speed 200X for a few months. Wanted to find something that needed some TLC but was not a total rat either. I plan to keep this machine basically stock and perfect for trails and mud. My R is just good for smooth groomed trails and ice really. Picked this 200X up for $600 with the following spare parts:
extra complete bottom end
extra rear shock
freshly rebuilt front caliper
extra tank and shrouds
extra front tire with disc
extra header pipe
brand new chain
It had been stripped down to have the frame and swinger painted.
Now I need some mechanical advice. it started fine, ran with no smoke. However it shifts HARD and only goes up to second. Any ideas what could cause this? The guy bought the extra bottom end and his plan was to just swap the jugs rather than get into the tranny. Sadly, some MORON welded the shifter peddle that is on the bike now! People are so F#@$ing stupid!
