    DG Head value?

I am looking for DG head for an 82 250r. What should a guy pay? Found some rough ones for $125. How rare are they?

I've seen them go for as high as $450 on ebay. If you are talking about an auction, the final price depends on its condition and who is looking. Sometimes you can luck out and get a nice one for a good price if no one else catches it. Regarding rarity, I've seen about 3 on ebay over the past year. You can look at it as an investment. If you get one and go to sell it in a few years you'll probably get your money back and perhaps more. 3-wheeler parts will only go up.

If the chamber is pitted can they be welded up and re machined? Is the gold a paint or is it anodized?

If it is not pitted too bad I wouldn't worry about getting it re-welded and machined. Most used heads I've seen have a few pits here and there. You want to make sure the spark plug threads are good. Over the years they can get worn out and a loose spark plug can overheat and bleed off compression. This can be fixed, however, with a time-sert if it gets too bad. The gold color is anodized. You should also know that the DG head has less volume than stock (22 cm vs. 24 cm if I remember) and therefore requires 50/50 race/pump gas. You will feel an improvement in performance, they run cooler, and they look bad ass. There is an old article on this website that compares the DG with others back in the day. It tested the best. Here is mine installed.

I bought one on ebay for 133.50 and looks to be in good shape. Someone cleaned it up buy blasting it so there is no gold left on it. Where would be a good place to send it to that can anodize it the right color?

You might contact HVCcycle and ask them if they will anodize it for you or give you the number of the people that do it for them. They sell replica DG heads for old-school road bikes and their product looks sweet. I've never used them but I came across their website when I was looking for one for my 250r. Here it is:
