Speedo Guru Needed!

I would like to know if the drive gear housing from an 81 Honda XR250R will fit on 86 ATC 200s shocks? I have a complete set up in excellent condition.

Anyone good with Honda speedometer gear housings?

I was looking around awhile back for a old honda speedo that would work on my 200s or my 200x. Similar problem i guess, i didnt wanna pay $300 for a old atc one.

I'm good with the old speedos, i have even rebuilt a few now, but i cant answer your question of what works on what unfortunately.

The ATC speedos are hard to find, although i have seen quite a few of them turn up on ebay, and if you do they go for big money.

So if I found an ATC housing. I could use the XR cable and speedometer?

Not sure on that because the drive gear on the atc's are kinda special on their own.

if it would work it prolly wont be accurate because I believe the tire size is diff.

Now I'm wondering if this will fit the 85 X I just picked up. If anything maybe the lower fork tubes would swap out for the XR tubes. Hmmm.
